It is not easy to find Mobile research, consumer insights and stats for Asia. However, there are two sources that stand out in terms of their comprehensive coverage of Mobile for the region, including local markets.
- Your first stop for regional Mobile insight should be the mobiThinking Compendium of Mobile Statistics and Research. This has almost every conceivable Mobile stat, from handset penetration to consumer Mobile internet adoption, although it often disappoints in not having local market info. Beware the insane level of detail, as you may get lost in this site!
- The Google commissioned Our Mobile Planet research (in partnership with the MMA and the IAB) has the granular local market level detail you need. Covers app usage, handset penetration, mobile internet usage amongst other consumer insight. There is also a nifty chart creation tool here if you want to play around with the data in a user friendly way.
Beyond the above, we would also suggest using our Custom eMarketer Search Tool for the most up to date Mobile news and research from eMarketer. There is plenty of Mobile data among the the wider Digital insight.
The MMA Research section is also a solid source of Mobile news and insight. Not currently a huge amount of Asia specific info, although it will be worth checking back as this is the key industry body for Mobile with a focus on Asia.
